The lost sierra retreat center

at the University of Earth

Our retreat center is the ideal place for hosting your eco-spiritual retreat and/or workshop.

University of Earth is pleased to be moving forward with our vision and mission of creating a world that works for us all, where the human community, the natural world and the divine worlds go forward as one sacred community. After taking a sabbatical year in 2023 we have reopened our Lost Sierra Retreat Center. This includes reopening to those individuals, organizations and outside groups that are aligned with our vision and mission who would like to bring their unique workshop offerings here.

Location

University of Earth's campus and the Lost Sierra Retreat Center is located on 40 acres just outside of Graeagle, California, and surrounded on three sides by Plumas National Forest public lands.  The little known and magnificent Lakes Basin National Recreation Area and the historic Plumas Eureka State Park in the heart of the Sacred Mother Mountains are minutes away. The middle fork of the feather river flows along a one mile stretch of our property.

Meeting Spaces

The Retreat Center offers both indoor and outdoor meeting spaces. Our Mother Mountain Yurt has a capacity of up to fifty-five (55) in a conventional classroom set up and forty-two (42) in a council circle style.  Each of our five cabins provides meeting space for smaller groups, plus sleeping accommodations for up to 28 people total, in ten bedrooms. Our new Brother Sun Yurt is located near the main lodging area and provides a lovely space for yoga, meditation and additional workshop space. When weather allows there are two primitive yurts and campsites also available to rent for your stay. Hire a caterer of your choice or prepare your own meals using the fully equipped kitchens located in each cabin. We have a variety of rental options available depending on the size of your group.

Workshops are subject to application review and have a minimum stay of 2 nights with a deposit to hold the space. Contact janet@uofearth.org to find out about pricing, availability and to begin your application process.

  • No pets or children allowed for workshops.
